Dr. Cathy K. Naughton
Dr. Naughton attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She then went on to the State University of New York to earn her Doctor of Medicine degree. Dr. Naughton completed her residency in Urologic Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis. She then completed a research fellowship at the Washington University School of Medicine. Subsequently she completed a clinical fellowship in Male Infertility and Microsurgery at The Glickman Urologic Institute, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Naughton joined the Division of Urological Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine as Assistant Professor, Director of Male Infertility and Microsurgery in 2001.
Dr. Naughton has received multiple awards in her field including; the National Institute of Health Research Grants, 2003-2006; the American College of Surgeons Faculty Research Fellowship, 2001-2003; the American Foundation for Urologic Disease Research Scholarship; 1999-2000; the Elizabeth Pickett Research Award, Society of Women in Urology, 1999-2000; the Pfizer Scholarship in Urology Awards 1998-1999; and the National Kidney Foundation Research Fellowship, 1996.
She is published in the Journal of Urology, Urology, Human Reproduction, Biology of Reproduction, fertility and Sterility and the Journal of Andrology among other peer-reviewed journals.
She is a member of the American Urological Association, the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction, the American Society of Andrology, and the Society of Male Reproduction and Urology. She is currently Immediate Past-President of the Society of Women in Urology.
Dr. Naughton joined Metropolitan Urological Specialists in 2006 to develop a comprehensive center devoted to optimizing sexual health and to pursue her clinical interests in Male Infertility, Male and Female Sexual Dysfunction, Couple's Sexual Health, Microsurgical Vasectomy Reversal, Microsurgical Varicocele Repair, Male and Female Urinary Incontinence, and Urologic Care for Women and Female Adolescents.
Dr. Naughton is board-certified by the American Board of Urology (ABU).
Dr. Cathy Naughton, Director of the Center for Sexual Health is the only board certified urologist in the greater St. Louis area, who is fellowship-trained in male infertility and microsurgery. She was voted Best Doctors amongst urologists, by urologists, in St. Louis Magazine August 2007 issue.
The published "Best Doctors" list is generated by votes from past "Best Doctors." Dr. Naughton was voted by her peers, other urologists who picked her in answer to the question: " if they or a loved one needed a doctor in their specialty, whom would they choose?" Her nomination and inclusion into the "Best Doctors" list in St. Louis highlights that she is well respected in the community by other physicians in her own specialty.
